Team Talk Odette! #117 - Get Stronger in Ballet
August 09, 2013
Hello

The director of my ballet company once said to the class, "how do you expect to get strong?".

We were all at the barre and he was correcting us after a fondu exercise.

Then, he explained, "you must use resistance!".

By creating resistance in your muscles, you work every inch of your body and gradually build strength up in ballet. You have to work your muscles in an extremely physical way and nothing should ever feel easy.

Look at my eBook "Virtue 3: Physicality", which gives you specific techniques and advice for your ballet body here -

Especially when you are practicing at the ballet barre you must push yourself to work so hard you feel exhausted by the end.

Keep striving to improve!

Best wishes,

Odette

P.S - The quote of the day is: “It seems the harder I work, the more luck I have.”
