Ballet Dancers Guide - Where do you dance?
Hi Odette!! I've been a fan of this blog for about 2 months now and I was wondering... what company do you dance with? Or are you a freelance dancer? What vocational ballet school did you go to? Who is your idol? Sorry there are so many questions! I'm a curious person :)

Ballet Dancers Guide - Where do you dance?
Hello Maya,
Thank you for contacting me, it is great to hear from you.
Do not be sorry, I too am a curious person so I take pleasure in all your questions. Of course you have a right to wonder who I am, especially if you are a fan of this site and I am very happy to hear you are a supporter! Thank you!
However, at the moment, I am unable to reveal much about myself or where I dance. I need to do this at the moment because as a practicing dancer, I have associations in a very old and established company and the views that I express within this website are my own views and I do not want to imply my own personal views are also the views of the establishment.
I am sorry that I cannot reveal more about myself, but one day I do tend to and I will share my journey of dance with you.
I wouldn't say I have just one particular idol, as there are many dancers that inspire me. Such as, Polina Seminova and Tamara Rojo, both of which are sensational dancers. But I guess, as a student, I greatly admired all the dancers working within my aspired ballet company. I remember watching them all dance in class and finding something in each one of them which I loved.
I am also inspired by the whole art form of dance - the expression, the music and the movement. The feeling I get when I perform is one of my greatest inspirations, as I feel free and alive - I love 'giving' to the audience and sharing the beauty of dance.
All the best,
Odette
