Team Talk Odette! #142 Why Perfection Doesn't Exist
January 13, 2014
Hello

For a moment, I want you to realise nothing has to always be perfect in ballet. It's hard I know, because of course dancers want to reach the ultimate best.

Especially in ballet, we strive for everything to be perfect and it can feel frustrating if something doesn't go your way or your pirouettes aren't consistent for example.

Yet as soon as you accept you don't have to be perfect, you will actually feel less pressure and have more guts to just go for it.

The 'guts' and brave mentality will help you improve wonders in ballet, because it gives you the confidence to be fearless in your dancing.

However, it's extremely hard to maintain this sort of mentality and success, which is why you must remind yourself of this important section from my eBook -

You can also get excellent tips on rising to the top in ballet here -

Since we're still at the very beginning of 2014, it's not too late to make new year resolutions and decide on what you really want from this coming year.

Best wishes,

Odette

P.S - The quote of the day is: "If you look for perfection, you'll never be content."
