Hello Sarah,

Thank you for contacting me, it is a great to hear from you.

I say you should definitely give ballet a go, after all, what have you got to loose? Go for it!

Ballet is a beautiful art form. It is a lot of hard work, but such a rewarding career.

You are at an age where most dancers just start to begin training to become a professional. At a vocational dance school students can start training from the early age of 11 right up until they are 18.

I believe anything is possible if you put your mind to it. Along with the physical ability, it's absolutely crucial to be mentally prepared for a professional ballet career. It highly depends on your self-motivation to how you succeed in becoming a professional ballet dancer. The Seven Secrets, on the 'Seven Secrets of Ballet' page, will give you the key answers of how to thrive in the ballet world.

Take a look at the Personal Development Planwhich show the gradual stages to becoming a professional dancer.

All the best,

Odette
