I was excited to find your website, and I love getting the emails. :D Your stories and messages inspire me, motivate me to give 110% in ballet class, and remind me to continue practicing outside of class. Thanks for helping me to become the best dancer I can be.
Thanks Odette!!

Hey Odette! You have been such a big help to me and my dancing, I can't even express my gratitude! Thank you:)

OK, anyway, I was wondering what you thought of my new blog.

I started it about a week ago, and I have 3 followers :P
So, is there anything you think I should change, or that you disagree with??

Thanks you! Anna

Hello Anna,

Thank you for contacting me, it is a pleasure to hear from you.

I am delighted to hear I have helped you both as an individual and a dancer. My goal within this website is to inspire young dancers like you and let them blossom throughout their dancing life.

You blog is fantastic, well done! If you like, you could produce an article or piece on a ballet topic and I will be happy to feature it on my website to promote your blog. You could write something on ballet pointe shoes, ballet performances or your favourite ballet dancers. This would give a great boost to your blog, as all the young dancers would read your article and be further interested to look at your blog.

Have a think and get back to me!

Best wishes,

Odette

Ballet Dancers Guide - Where do you dance?

Ballet Dancers Guide - Where do you dance?

Hi Odette!! I've been a fan of this blog for about 2 months now and I was wondering... what company do you dance with? Or are you a freelance dancer? What vocational ballet school did you go to? Who is your idol? Sorry there are so many questions! I'm a curious person :)

Ballet Dancers Guide - Where do you dance?

Hello Maya,

Thank you for contacting me, it is great to hear from you.

Do not be sorry, I too am a curious person so I take pleasure in all your questions. Of course you have a right to wonder who I am, especially if you are a fan of this site and I am very happy to hear you are a supporter! Thank you!

However, at the moment, I am unable to reveal much about myself or where I dance. I need to do this at the moment because as a practicing dancer, I have associations in a very old and established company and the views that I express within this website are my own views and I do not want to imply my own personal views are also the views of the establishment.

I am sorry that I cannot reveal more about myself, but one day I do tend to and I will share my journey of dance with you.

I wouldn't say I have just one particular idol, as there are many dancers that inspire me. Such as, Polina Seminova and Tamara Rojo, both of which are sensational dancers. But I guess, as a student, I greatly admired all the dancers working within my aspired ballet company. I remember watching them all dance in class and finding something in each one of them which I loved.

I am also inspired by the whole art form of dance - the expression, the music and the movement. The feeling I get when I perform is one of my greatest inspirations, as I feel free and alive - I love 'giving' to the audience and sharing the beauty of dance.

All the best,

Odette
