Career Development Plan - How can I continue?

Dear Odette,
Money has always been a problem in our family, but it never interfered with my bi-weekly ballet classes. This year it might be different. Do you know of any ballet schools with scholarships? I can't go train full time because my family are religious jews. I really love ballet, I've just started pointe (I'm 13) and not really advanced but I practice every day and am learning really well.
THANK YOU!-all the best

Hello LeeAnn,

Thank you for your query, it is a pleasure to hear from you.

I understand there can often be problems with money, as my family also struggled with money when I was a training student, but I was fortunate enough to receive a scholarship at my school which helped exceedingly.

Most vocational ballet schools offer scholarships and I gather the California Ballet School includes financial help too. I follow that you are unable to train full time, so perhaps try finding out if your local ballet school will offer you any sort of bursary.

I would try discussing your concerns with your family and they may be able to further guide you.

I'm glad to hear your passion for ballet, your great work ethic will take you far.

Don't forget to follow the Seven Secrets, on the 'Seven Secrets of Ballet' page, which will give you the key answers of how to thrive in the ballet world.

All the best,

Odette
